Director: Barbra Wallace

Barbra was appointed as Director of the Women’s Design Service in October 2008. She comes from a social science, management and entrepreneurship background, with extensive experience of setting up and developing charitable, not-for-profit and social enterprises. She has recently completed a PhD in Muslim women’s entrepreneurship in east London.

Barbra is an experienced urban regeneration practitioner, with particular knowledge of asset / workspace management and has worked with a wide range of marginalised communities and groups, in inner city Liverpool, Manchester and, for the last six years, in east London.

Passionate about women’s rights, Barbra is a Trustee of a community-based ethnic minority women’s organisation and has recently been apponted as a Trustee of the Fawcett Society. In her role as Director of the Women’s Design Service, Barbra is committed to working to ensure that the design and use of the built environment reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of women.

Community Development Worker: Hannah Berry

Hannah started at WDS in September 2007 and is working on setting up Women's Design Groups in Manchester and Islington.

Administrator: Hannah Carty

Hannah joined WDS in November 2005 as Admin and Finance Worker. She also works as a freelence illustrator.
